After the operation you will be supplied with all the necessary medication and postoperative care instructions including an emergency number from your doctor.
This incorporates the regeneration of the epithelium which, according to the healing process, can last up to five days and which is protected by a soft "bande" contact lens.
Further follow-up
In contrast to LASIK you may have pain after this procedure - this is regulated with medication.
In the first week your sight will undergo change. Your eye has never had a "reading muscle" before and must now master its new skill.
Your operated eye(s) will not bare any pressure (e.g. lifting heavy weight), chemical or mechanical contact (e.g. make-up, swimming) as well as dry, dusty air (e.g. in a plane, bar).
At the beginning of the second week you will receive eye drops, to be taken for a month, to stop possible scarring.
Your new vision can be enjoyed after a few weeks. It is therefore advisable to treat yourself to a weeks holiday.
Possible refining operations are more uncomfortable as the same procedure is repeated.
Depending on individual recovery, it is recommended that patients have a series of up to seven post-operative check-ups.
