The decision to have eye laser treatment lies with you, the patient. Information is the key to your decision.
This includes knowing the risks involved in all medical operations. In practiced LASEK clinics two risks usually remain:
- Infection
As in all medical operations, infection is possible, but in clinics with clean air criteria the chances are very small.
Close monitoring at regular check-ups and strict adherence to the prescribed preventative medicine must be followed by the patient.
Risk: < 2‰
- Results
Due to differing tissue reaction, the desired correction results are achieved to 93 percent.
Misalignment or de-centering with laser technology and new eye tracking devices are seldom occurrences.
Over or under correction is measured up to three months following the operation.
If the patient is still unsatisfied a further lifting of the corneal flap will occur and a refinement will be made.
Risk: < 7%
