The LASIK Procedure (laser-in-situ-Keratomileusis),
a modification of PRK, is now the most popular form of excimer laser treatments in the world.


  Facts  
  Anaesthetic The eye is anaesthetized with local anaesthetic eye drops.
  Operation Duration Approx. 10 minutes per eye including preparation, banding, etc.
  Laser Use Approx. 10-15 seconds
  Recovery Phase  
  - On OP day Slight discomfort in eye (burning, tears, light sensitivity)
  - Next day Generally 80% sight and no pain
  - After 4-6 weeks Stable sight generally restored
